About the position

The Executive Assistant for Global Banking & Markets at Scotiabank plays a crucial role in providing high-level administrative support to members of the Executive Committee. This position requires discretion, confidentiality, and a strong understanding of business operations. The Executive Assistant will contribute to the success of the team by ensuring that individual goals and initiatives are executed in alignment with the business strategies and objectives of Global Banking & Markets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level administrative support for one or more members of the Executive Committee/Chief Officers.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships.
  • Gather, compile, verify, and analyze information for the executive's use in various documents.
  • Monitor, review, and approve standard expenditures to ensure activities are conducted within established budgets.
  • Provide input into developing and enhancing current processes and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the Admin Team.
  • Establish sound business relationships by providing courteous and efficient assistance to clients.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy for team development.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary training in business administration or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a business administration support function.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of MS Office 2010.
  • Excellent coordination, organizational, time-management, and work prioritization skills.
  • Attention to detail, resourcefulness, and accountability in follow-up.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work independently.
  • Clear and articulate communication skills in both oral and written form.
  • Flexibility and high tolerance for change.
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and operational risk management.
