About the position

The Executive Assistant to the Director of the Department of Early Learning and Care plays a vital role in providing high-level administrative support to the agency Director and Executive Leadership Team. This position is essential for managing communications, coordinating office operations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Director's office. The role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to promoting equity in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level, confidential support to the Early Learning Systems Director and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Manage day-to-day office operations, policies, procedures, and programs of the Office of the Director.
  • Coordinate communications to and from the Director's Office.
  • Provide backup support to the Executive Leadership Team members and the Executive Officer to the Early Learning Council.
  • Assist in the administration of department programs and operations.

Requirements

  • Four years of staff-level experience providing administrative support to management.
  • Experience must include technical or analytical duties in program management, project planning, or budget control.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle inquiries with tact and protect confidentiality.
  • Experience managing calendars and coordinating meetings.
