About the position

The Executive Assistant to the Director of the Department of Early Learning and Care plays a vital role in supporting the agency's leadership by providing executive-level administrative support. This position is essential for managing communications, coordinating office operations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Director's Office. The role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to promoting equity in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level, confidential support to the Early Learning Systems Director and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Manage day-to-day office operations, policies, procedures, and programs of the Office of the Director.
  • Coordinate communications to and from the Director's Office.
  • Provide backup support to the Executive Leadership Team members and the Executive Officer to the Early Learning Council as needed.
  • Assist in the administration of department programs and operations.

Requirements

  • Four years of staff-level experience providing administrative support to management, including technical or analytical duties.
  • Experience in program or project planning, budget monitoring, or providing analytical information for management decision making.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for up to two years of required experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing calendars and coordinating meetings or workshops.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and confidentiality.
