The Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf (ENCSD) is a state school dedicated to providing a specialized learning environment for deaf and hard of hearing students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Executive Assistant to the School Director plays a crucial role in supporting the School Director by providing comprehensive clerical and secretarial services. This position involves managing the School Director's calendar, answering phone calls, taking messages, scheduling meetings, and organizing conference calls. The Executive Assistant is responsible for attending meetings, taking minutes, typing correspondence, and maintaining organized files for easy access to important information. Additionally, the role includes completing travel authorization forms, scheduling the use of state vehicles, and handling flight arrangements for the Director and visitors. This position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and it is a 12-month position. Flexibility in hours may be required based on the school calendar or the needs of the program or students. The Executive Assistant will have daily contact with the School Director and will be responsible for creating and prioritizing daily tasks, screening and greeting visitors, and maintaining communication with various staff members and the general public. The role also involves compiling and maintaining paperwork, assisting with reports, and performing other specific work projects as assigned by the School Director.
