About the position

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. This is a Hybrid position based out of the West Akron Campus. The Executive Assistant will provide comprehensive support for the Emerging Technologies organization, which includes one Director and seven Managers. Key responsibilities include maintaining calendars, managing expense accounts, extensive meeting scheduling, and travel arrangements. The role requires coordination and assistance in general administrative tasks such as updating time sheets, data compilation, word processing, and record and file maintenance. The Executive Assistant must remain flexible and capable of quickly handling changes in scheduling and last-minute information requests. Additionally, the position involves managing the company purchasing card and reconciliation process, ordering supplies for both local office and remote resources, and processing monthly invoices. The Executive Assistant will also provide support for special projects as requested, help administer the gift card program for the department, and update the IT SharePoint Site. This role regularly handles sensitive and confidential materials and information, necessitating a high degree of confidentiality. The Executive Assistant will develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets, and may also create and prepare correspondence and complex presentations. A solid commitment to all aspects of safety is essential, as is the ability to demonstrate sound internal and external customer service. The candidate must possess a strong background and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Empower, Coupa, and SAP. Maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers based on knowledge of potential hazards and industry regulations is crucial. The Executive Assistant will independently anticipate and provide excellent quality service to meet internal and external customer needs, answer complex inquiries pertinent to the assigned area, and use excellent communication skills with good judgment. Consistently anticipating and delivering results is expected, along with proactively ensuring knowledge is transferred to others.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and assists in general administrative work such as updating time sheets and data compilation.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED along with a minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Empower, Coupa, and SAP.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and prioritize tasks from multiple sources.
  • Professional communication skills for daily interaction, including the ability to take direction and provide guidance to others.
  • Previous experience providing support to an executive is preferred.
