About the position

This position provides essential administrative support to the Plant Manager and other managers at BD, a leading global medical technology company. The role involves overseeing small projects, delegating tasks to other administrative assistants, and ensuring compliance with quality systems and safety regulations. The position requires effective communication and organizational skills to facilitate interactions with BD sites worldwide and support various administrative functions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of administrative tasks to support the Plant Manager.
  • Organizes visits and meetings for worldwide groups and/or BD dignitaries, including travel, agendas, presentation preparation, minute taking, and logistic planning.
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and delegates various tasks and responsibilities to other administrative assistants.
  • Works with Executive Assistants from other BD plants to coordinate events and processes.
  • Supports training initiatives as requested, such as new hire orientation.
  • Leads, facilitates, or works as a team member to improve processes and workflow related to administrative responsibilities.
  • Acts as a liaison between BD and the BD Retiree/Alumni organization.
  • Works with outside organizations to support donation processes and promote BD's purpose.
  • Proficient in prioritizing, multi-tasking, and accomplishing work on-time and accurately with many interruptions.
  • Assists in planning and supporting activities for associates.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality due to the nature of some information being processed.
  • Coordinates and publishes the plant newsletter.
  • Manages BDtv updates.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business, Administrative, Industrial Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing and Pharm Systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in operating office equipment and comfortable learning new technologies.
  • Basic skill in Microsoft Excel; Advanced or Specialized skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization, including written and verbal skills.
  • Reliability and leadership skills.
  • Second language (Spanish) and international environment experience is preferred.
  • Professional, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to work well with others and with little or no direction.
  • Strong initiative and follow-through capabilities.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and task management.
