About the position

The Executive Assistant position at the Department of Economic Security (DES) involves providing administrative support to the Unemployment Insurance Administration (UIA) and its Deputy Administrators. The role includes managing schedules, maintaining documents, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. The Executive Assistant will also assist in program operations and may have the opportunity to work remotely based on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and administrative expertise to the Unemployment Insurance Administrator and Deputy Administrators.
  • Maintain the calendar of the Unemployment Insurance Administrator and assist with project plan development.
  • Schedule conference rooms and process travel requests and reimbursements.
  • Manage supplies, timecards, and hiring requests for the UIA Program.
  • Respond to inquiries and manage correspondence for the UIA Administrator and Deputy Administrators.

Requirements

  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Associate's degree or higher
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver's license

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in state government
  • 3-5 years of progressively higher level executive or administrative responsibility
