About the position

The Executive Assistant position at the Department of Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration (TSA) involves providing high-level administrative support to senior officials within the Security Operations, Surface, Region 5. The role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of administrative and program activities, contributing to the safeguarding of the American transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out administrative and program activities on behalf of the Assistant Administrator (AA) and Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA).
  • Conduct basic research and analyze information from various sources related to TSA initiatives.
  • Prepare in-depth and technical communications regarding sensitive agency policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and arrange travel logistics, including scheduling, itineraries, reservations, and travel documentation.
  • Utilize computer software productivity programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise tools like WebTA and Concur.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status.
  • Minimum age of 18 at the time of application.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-F band (GS-9) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
  • Experience in performing a variety of administrative tasks, including managing calendars and making travel arrangements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in preparing complex travel plans and expense reports.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize information for briefings and reports.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
