About the position

The Executive Assistant to the President of Pierce College Fort Steilacoom plays a crucial role in supporting the institution's mission by providing high-level administrative support to the college president. This position focuses on fostering relationships within the college community and beyond, ensuring effective communication, and managing various operational tasks. The role emphasizes advancing equity and belonging, particularly for Black and Brown students, and requires exceptional organizational skills, strategic thinking, and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level support to the President of Pierce College Fort Steilacoom.
  • Serve as a liaison between the president, students, staff, faculty, and the community.
  • Manage the administrative operations of the President's Office.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the president and other personnel.
  • Assist with project and event coordination.
  • Screen and prioritize incoming communications to the President's Office.
  • Schedule appointments and establish calendar priorities for the president.
  • Maintain accurate budget accounting and implement office procedures.
  • Coordinate campus events and negotiate costs with service providers.
  • Support the maintenance and retention of records in compliance with policies.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration, Office Management, Education, General Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience in an administrative or executive assistant role in a public-facing organization.
  • Experience managing complex calendars and scheduling logistics.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and understand legal compliance.

  • Experience tracking budgets and reconciling purchases.
  • Familiarity with equity and inclusion initiatives.
