About the position

The Executive Assistant to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the City of Atlanta plays a crucial role in supporting the CIO and the Office of the CIO (OCIO) by performing a variety of technical and administrative duties. This position serves as a liaison between citywide departments and external entities, ensuring effective communication and coordination of activities. The role requires a high level of independence, expertise, and the ability to manage complex assignments with minimal supervision, all while embodying the core values of trust, accountability, collaboration, service, and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates activities and schedules for the CIO.
  • Develops and recommends office policies, procedures, and systems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Researches and analyzes routine administrative projects for the CIO.
  • Screens all communications of the CIO, prioritizing messages that require immediate attention.
  • Prepares, reviews, and proofreads written communications and reports for accuracy and consistency.
  • Independently responds to routine correspondence and drafts various documents from notes and dictation.
  • Serves as a representative of the CIO on special projects, committees, and task forces as assigned.
  • Makes travel arrangements for the CIO and reconciles expenses.
  • Maintains appointment schedules and calendars; arranges meetings and conferences.
  • Follows up on assignments given to management team members by the CIO and provides status reports.
  • Accompanies the CIO to events, capturing minutes and action items.
