About the position

The Executive Assistant at Broward College provides comprehensive administrative support to the Central Student Affairs department. This role involves operational planning, coordination of departmental policies, and a variety of administrative tasks that require specialized knowledge and organizational skills. The position is essential for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and effective communication within the department and with external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform diverse administrative activities for the department, serving as a liaison with other departments and external constituencies.
  • Create, compose, and edit technical and administrative correspondence and documentation.
  • Assist in administrative problem solving, program/project planning, and execution of goals and objectives.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding work-area policies and procedures, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Sort and distribute mail and materials within the office, including incoming deliveries.
  • Provide support activities such as answering phones, assisting visitors, and managing correspondence.
  • Establish, update, and maintain unit's files, inventories, and records; implement data management systems as required.
  • Schedule complex appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five years of administrative, office, or related experience required.
  • Prior light bookkeeping and office management experience desirable; administrative support experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills required.
  • Ability to communicate accurate information to vendors and relate with a highly skilled staff.
  • Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple initiatives and projects for the department/unit.
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and office management best practices preferred.
  • Advanced computer software skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $41,262 - $47,451 commensurate with education and experience.
  • Full-time regular position with a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
