About the position

The Executive Budget Analyst III is responsible for preparing, executing, and monitoring the City's operating budget, including the assessment of needs, costs, and performance. This lead-level position involves administering and controlling budget functions, reviewing expenditures, and performing various technical tasks. The role requires full training in all procedures related to budget management and includes training new analysts and providing guidance to staff. The Executive Budget Analyst III will coordinate the budget process and prepare comprehensive reports that require input from multiple analysts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, execute, and monitor assigned programs, accounts, and funds within the City's operating budget.
• Administer and control assigned department budget functions and review expenditures.
• Perform a variety of technical tasks related to assigned areas of responsibility.
• Train new analysts and provide guidance to staff.
• Coordinate the budget process and prepare reports requiring multiple analyst input.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics, accounting, public administration, or business administration.
• Seven years of experience in budget development or financial analysis.
• Experience in budget development or financial analysis in municipal government preferred.
