About the position

The Executive Content Manager at Mayo Clinic is responsible for researching and producing impactful content for executive leadership, including speeches and business communications tailored to various audiences. This role requires a nuanced understanding of audience dynamics and the ability to communicate complex topics effectively. The position involves collaboration with high-level leaders and subject matter experts, providing strategic communications consultation, and managing cross-functional projects to support Mayo Clinic's mission and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Research and produce content for executive leadership, including speeches and business communications.
  • Tailor remarks to achieve objectives for various audiences, including the Board of Trustees.
  • Collaborate with high-level leaders and subject matter experts to create impactful communications.
  • Provide strategic communications consultation and guidance to executives.
  • Plan, drive, implement, monitor, and measure results of communications plans.
  • Manage complex and cross-functional projects through the entire project life cycle.
  • Build and improve positive relationships with colleagues, leaders, and experts.
  • Convey confidence, clarity, and transparency in communications with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business planning and strategy development.
  • Drive strategies and tactics forward to execution.
  • Informally lead teams and provide leadership to others, including contractors and third parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (liberal arts, business, communications, marketing, healthcare, etc.).
  • 7-10 years of professional experience in executive communications or a relevant field.
  • Deep experience producing written and visual content for varied audiences and occasions.
  • Experience writing on health science and health tech topics, with an understanding of AI and automation.
  • Exceptional business writing, editing, storytelling, fact-checking, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work proficiently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • High personal motivation, strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Ability to inspire trust and confidence from executive leadership.
  • Proven expertise in creating and executing communications strategies based on business objectives.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
