About the position

The Executive Dean for the College of Chiropractic Education at Southern California University of Health Sciences is a pivotal leadership role aimed at shaping the future of chiropractic education. This inaugural position involves overseeing the expansion of chiropractic education, redesigning the Doctor of Chiropractic program, and enhancing faculty and student experiences. The Executive Dean will represent the program nationally and ensure the institution maintains its commitment to high-quality, integrative healthcare education.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the geographic expansion of chiropractic education to three additional locations outside California.
  • Hire and mentor program directors for each new location.
  • Redesign the Doctor of Chiropractic program to ensure it is high-quality, relevant, innovative, and accessible.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to improve the faculty experience.
  • Engage with SCU Health Services and the Center for Interprofessional Education to enhance the student experience.
  • Represent the chiropractic profession and program nationally to accrediting bodies and professional associations.
  • Maintain and build enrollment to uphold the institution's legacy of preparing integrative, evidence-based chiropractors.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in academic leadership within higher education, particularly in healthcare programs.
  • Strong business management skills and experience in program development and oversight.
  • Ability to foster relationships across diverse stakeholders, including faculty, students, and external agencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to interprofessional education and whole-person health.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with innovative educational delivery models such as accelerated and hybrid programs.
  • Familiarity with accreditation processes and standards in higher education.
