About the position

EyeCare Partners is the nation's leading provider of clinically integrated eye care, with a national network of over 300 ophthalmologists and 700 optometrists dedicated to enhancing vision, advancing eye care, and improving lives. This position is specifically designed to support Dayton Eye Associates and Valley Eye Institute, and it is essential that the candidate is local to the area. The Executive Director, Clinical Operations will play a pivotal role in leading patient care teams within a healthcare delivery environment, overseeing the operations of a large ophthalmology practice or a small set of practices. This leadership position requires a high level of understanding of clinical operations and the ability to implement effective strategies for growth and improvement. The Executive Director will be responsible for the professional development of the management team, developing and implementing growth strategies, and ensuring the implementation of operational best practices. This role will also involve collaboration with other leaders within the division to execute EyeCare Partners' strategic vision. The Executive Director will work in a fast-paced yet flexible environment, requiring strategic thinking to identify where clinic operations could be in the next 12 to 24 months. They will implement plans in partnership with the VP of Clinic Operations and practice physicians to achieve strategic goals. In addition to strategic planning, the Executive Director will analyze practice financial data, make recommendations for improving profitability, and ensure effective communication and teamwork among physicians, leadership, and staff. This role will also involve continuous assessment of staffing needs to support practice operations and drive talent development through hiring and upskilling initiatives. The Executive Director will be a key member of the leadership team, guiding the organization towards achieving its mission and vision while maintaining high standards of patient care and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Think strategically; identify where clinic operations could be in 12 - 24 months, and implement plans in partnership with the VP, Clinic Operations, and practice physicians to assist in achieving strategic destination.
  • Identify opportunities to continue to propel business towards 'world class,' design solutions for such opportunities, implement, and monitor progress.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Develop and implement practice growth strategies.
  • Carry out corporate initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee operations staff for a large practice or set of practices.
  • Remain educated and in-tune with trends in healthcare, reimbursement, operations, etc. on a national and local level.
  • Analyze practice financial data and make recommendations regarding steps which can be implemented to improve profitability.
  • Identify goals and translate them into functional and actionable goals for team.
  • Achieve cooperation and teamwork through effective communications and positive relations with physicians, leadership, and staff.
  • Partner with practice physicians to identify doctor needs, areas for specialty expansion and physician recruitment.
  • Continuously assess all staffing needs in support of practice operations and drive for continued upskilling of talent through hiring, identify changes to physician schedules and adjust coverage as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare Management required.
  • Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • 10+ years of practice management experience required.
  • Experience in a multi-site organization.
  • Experience working in a growth-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent management skills, program implementation, and quality improvement.
  • Proven success in growing a healthcare operation.
  • Demonstrated experience in partnering with physicians in clinic expansion.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
