About the position

The Executive Director of ERP Business Functions is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the successful implementation of the ERP system at UCSF, focusing on technology and business transformation across the organization. This position oversees various business functions, including Financial Management, Supply Chain, Human Capital Management, Research Grants/Awards Management, and Student Information Systems, ensuring effective governance and collaboration with technical teams. The role involves conceptualizing and implementing initiatives to advance the Senior Vice Chancellor's program vision, providing guidance to executives, and representing the organization in system-wide discussions related to ERP implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the ERP system for UCSF, ensuring alignment with business transformation goals.
  • Serve as the Business Program Owner in ERP implementation governance, collaborating with the Technical Program Owner.
  • Manage project management and change management activities related to ERP systems design.
  • Oversee health and campus communications regarding the ERP implementation program.
  • Conceptualize and implement initiatives to advance the Senior Vice Chancellor's program vision and priorities.
  • Provide advice and guidance to executives on organizational policies related to ERP.
  • Identify and frame systemic issues related to ERP design and implementation.
  • Lead and participate in the functional design of ERP systems, ensuring efficient restructuring of work and staffing.
  • Develop and review items for the program's executive sponsors and present options and recommendations.
  • Represent the organization in location-wide and systemwide meetings related to ERP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working with R1 Research University, with 8 to 10 years of demonstrated progressive responsibilities in ERP implementations.
  • Experience with Academic Medical Center is considered valuable.
  • Ability to travel to UCSF locations as needed.
  • Demonstrated skills in team building and managing high-functioning teams.
  • Knowledge of the organizational environment of higher education and large research universities.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and facilitate cooperation among teams.
  • Experience implementing Oracle Cloud ERP platform for various business functions.
  • Strong partnership development skills with the business community.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with operational efficiency focus.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
