About the position

The Executive Director, Global Head of HR Shared Services & People Technology at Gilead will lead the transformation of HR services, focusing on enhancing employee experience and operational excellence. This role involves overseeing the People Technology team and managing a new team of People Partners, while driving innovation and collaboration across global HR processes. The position requires a strategic leader capable of solving complex problems and implementing a tiered delivery model for HR services.

Responsibilities

  • Build a deep understanding of Gilead's HR organization and develop a communications strategy with HR partners.
  • Partner with COEs, HRBPs, and external vendors to shape the HRSS transformation roadmap.
  • Lead the transition plan from current operations to a future tiered delivery model.
  • Oversee the People Technology team to ensure effective use of technology in HR services delivery.
  • Align technology initiatives with the HRSS strategy to enhance employee experience.
  • Lead and grow a team of People Partners focused on the U.S. and develop a scalable support model.
  • Ensure effective delivery of HRSS solutions/projects/programs, including portfolio management and change management.
  • Identify and execute HRSS process improvement opportunities with HR COE leaders and HRBPs.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement for employee experience and operational excellence.
  • Establish governance for optimal prioritization of team resources and stakeholder management.
  • Manage the team that partners with HRBPs/COEs for training and documentation.
  • Leverage dashboards to report on transition status and performance metrics of HRSS.

Requirements

  • 14+ years of progressive experience with a Master's or 16+ years with a Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of relevant leadership experience within global HR Shared Services and HR Technology.
  • Superior leadership and people-management skills with a proven track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Deep expertise in leveraging technology and process improvement for employee experiences.
  • Experience leading HRSS changes in a large, globally diverse organization.
  • Strong ability to inspire confidence and drive clarity in a complex environment.
  • Background in HR technology, particularly Workday, with integration and optimization skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing virtual, cross-cultural teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and initiative to solve complex problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Agile/Lean Sigma/Six Sigma quality and process improvement experience.
  • Expertise in leading HR Service Delivery platforms, specifically Workday and ServiceNow.
  • Multi-lingual capabilities (English +1).
