About the position

The Executive Director of Investment Banking at Santander US Capital Markets LLC is responsible for leading the origination and execution of merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions for a diverse range of clients, including both domestic and foreign entities. This role involves coordinating teams of associates and analysts, collaborating with various coverage teams, and developing innovative solutions for clients. The position requires a strong focus on evaluating risk factors, negotiating transactions, and performing comprehensive financial analysis to support client engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the origination and execution of M&A transactions for domestic and foreign entities.
  • Coordinate teams of associates and analysts within M&A.
  • Collaborate with different coverage teams including Healthcare, Technology, Retail, Real Estate, and Industrials.
  • Develop innovative solutions for client companies in the investment advisory space.
  • Evaluate risk factors and negotiate transactions on behalf of clients.
  • Perform valuation, accounting, and other technical tasks for transactions.
  • Review financial and mathematical modeling and analysis, including discounted cash flow and trading multiples.
  • Participate in business development by identifying potential client opportunities.

Requirements

  • Master's in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Three years of experience in investment banking or as an investment banking associate.
  • Experience conducting corporate finance and M&A transactions across various industries.
  • Proficiency in building financial models and validating valuation analysis.
  • Experience liaising with legal advisors and negotiating transaction documents.
  • Ability to develop relationships with CEOs, CFOs, and business development teams.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, Mergermarket, Kroll cost of capital database, and Pitchbook.
