About the position

The Executive Director at Vernon Health & Rehabilitation is responsible for overseeing the administration of the health care facility, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing operations, and leading the management team. This role involves direct communication with department directors, managing budgets, and ensuring quality care for residents with skilled nursing needs and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the 24-hour operation of the facility.
  • Direct and communicate regularly with the management team.
  • Work with department directors to manage budgets, financial needs, census, equipment, supplies, and resources.
  • Ensure proper response to family, resident, regulatory, business, and personnel matters.
  • Manage survey and reporting processes, ensuring compliance and corrective actions as needed.
  • Direct quality assessment and assurance functions, including regulatory compliance rounds.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and compliance with infection control programs.
  • Maintain proper documentation of investigations, incidents, meetings, and staff training.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures reflecting facility philosophy and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and apply current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs.
  • Carry out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Valid Nursing Home or Residential Care Administrator license as required by state regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to organize, document, and implement detailed programs.
  • Good communication and computer skills.
