Responsibilities

• Analyze structured transactions and complex client trades in commodities markets, providing necessary approvals.
• Lead the commodities market risk team, focusing on strategic risk analyses of structured transactions.
• Maintain communication with commodities trading desks regarding trading strategies and risk representation.
• Collaborate with the trading desk and risk infrastructure teams to identify and manage key risks.
• Escalate significant risks to management with relevant analysis in a timely manner.
• Work with the MRD commodities coverage team to implement CCAR level shocks and related analyses.
• Manage and lead a small team of junior analysts and associates.

Requirements

• Experience in commodities market risk management, particularly in North American Power & Gas markets.
• Advanced degree in economics, finance, or engineering.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering risk presentations to senior management.
• Familiarity with VaR calculations, stress testing, and scenario analysis for commodity products.
• Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
• Strong quantitative and technical skills, including SQL, R, Matlab, and Excel.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Exceptional organizational skills and analytical thinking.
