About the position

Catholic Charities New Hampshire is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual for the role of Executive Director of the NH Food Bank. In this role, the Executive Director will be responsible for managing the strategic vision of the Food Bank while advocating for hunger relief and fostering connections with supporters to advance the mission. The position requires a proven leadership record and the ability to maintain positive, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including over 400 partner agencies, state and federal legislators, Feeding America, and the leadership and Board of Trustees of Catholic Charities NH. Responsibilities

  • Embrace and embody Catholic Charities NH's (CCNH) C.H.O.I.C.E.S. values.
  • Accept responsibility for understanding the corporate structure, mission, and faith beliefs of CCNH and represent the NH Food Bank's position to donors, stakeholders, employees, and the public.
  • Develop and maintain a mutually positive, productive, collaborative, and trusting relationship with CCNH's leadership and staff.
  • Establish program objectives, evaluate program performance, and develop organizational structures consistent with policies and directives established by CCNH, the Board of Trustees, and Feeding America (FA).
  • Ensure compliance with FA contract provisions and participate in FA calls, regional and national conferences, and inspections.
  • Provide leadership in planning and implementing the strategic direction of the NHFB with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
  • Provide direction, supervision, performance evaluation, and support to senior management staff and assist with ongoing staff/team development.
  • Oversee fiscal activities including budgeting, reporting, and the annual audit.
  • Develop and implement plans for fundraising and procurement of major gifts and food donations in conjunction with the NHFB Director of Development and the Director of Operations.
  • Manage a donor portfolio and maintain regular contact with donors.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with potential funding sources, including individuals, foundations, corporations, and government entities.
  • Advocate for state and federal legislation that supports hunger relief.
  • Provide leadership and community building to support the network of member agencies and their efforts to end hunger.
  • Build relationships with local, state, and federal officials on public policy issues related to hunger and poverty abatement.
  • Serve as the Food Bank's chief public spokesperson, articulating NH's hunger problem and the Food Bank's mission to various public groups.
  • Participate in and support the Food Bank's Advisory Committee and various CCNH Board committees.
  • Support the ongoing stewardship, recruitment, orientation, and training of Advisory Committee members.
  • Collaborate with other area non-profits and government agencies to end hunger in NH.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, human services, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of eight years' experience in food banking, non-profit management, or business management.
  • Experience working with a Board or Advisory Committee.
  • Documented success in leading fundraising activities in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with strategic, policy, and budget planning experience in a complex organization.
  • Valid driver's license.
