About the position

This position is tasked with leading the alignment, growth, and academic integrity of the Early College program at Ocean County College. This position guides efforts to foster productive relationships with high school partners, ensuring curriculum quality and accreditation compliance and strategically expanding high school students' access to college-level learning opportunities. This position uses a strong technology foundation to manage multiple systems and software to increase efficiency and effectiveness. The position collaborates with Academic Deans, College Relations, Student Affairs, and external stakeholders to promote student engagement, academic success, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Aligns early college curriculums and learning outcomes with the standards of courses taught at Ocean County College; collaborates with Academic Affairs to ensure compliance and upholds academic integrity of the Early College program.
  • Develops and maintains an assessment process and associated procedures to ensure that faculty that teach Ocean County College classes at the high schools deliver the same academic rigor as the college.
  • Develops and executes marketing strategies to promote the Early College program in digital and physical forms; works collaboratively with College Relations to evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust strategy as needed.
  • Strategically explores, develops, and expands the Early College program with new and existing partners; Monitors areas of opportunity for growth.
  • Utilizes technology platforms including, but not limited to, Simple Syllabus, Recruit and Advise, Colleague, and Canvas to manage workflows, ensure efficient program operations, and streamline communications with stakeholders.
  • Acts as a liaison for the college with school district administrators, including guidance directors, curriculum directors, and principals, to establish and strengthen partnerships.
  • Identifies opportunities to increase participation and improve access for diverse student populations, including homeschooled students, alternative high school students, and current high school students taking ELL classes.
  • Regularly assess and update policies and procedures focusing on Early College to ensure alignment with program goals, standards, and overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversees and supports staff members involved in the Early College program, providing guidance, setting performance expectations, and fostering professional development to maintain high service standards.
  • Participate in collegewide events, including Colloquiums, Commencements, Open Houses, and interest sessions.
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, education administration or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of K-12 education systems and policies, curriculum alignment, accreditation standards, and assessment processes.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience as an education administrator in either higher education or K-12.
  • Four years of experience supervising a team of professionals (two or more employees) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with educational stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Experience as a high school teacher, counselor, or administrator.
  • Experience using Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, and similar technology platforms and software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Ellucian's SIS system, Colleague, and related CRM systems.
  • Early college program leadership experience.
