Executive Director of Feeder

About the position

The Executive Director of a Feeder Pattern is responsible for overseeing and supporting approximately 10-15 schools within the Houston Independent School District (HISD). This role focuses on leading a cross-functional team to enhance the quality of instruction and ensure the overall well-being of students. The Executive Director will coach principals, manage school operations, and engage with various stakeholders to improve student achievement and performance outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build and supervise a team of leaders that support schools to increase effective instructional leadership.
• Provide leadership in principal coaching, support, and data-driven decision-making focused on student success.
• Support schools in their commitment to diverse student populations, including those with disabilities and second language learners.
• Ensure satisfaction of parents, students, teachers, and principals regarding academic success and well-being.
• Assist schools with cross-functional operational needs including human capital, finance, and compliance with regulations.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's Degree
• 5+ years of successful experience as a principal or in a related position
• Thorough knowledge of board policy and procedures
• Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations
• Proven effectiveness as a coach or mentor in leadership positions
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Teacher Certification
• School Administrator Certification
