The Executive Director, Sales at CSG is a pivotal role responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing the strategic direction for the sales function across designated territories and accounts. This position acts as a vital conduit for regional input, leveraging advanced business and industry knowledge to challenge assumptions of potential customers. The goal is to generate new sales opportunities by creating unique and compelling solutions, value propositions, messaging, positioning documents, and presentations that align CSG with its target markets. The Executive Director will also build and lead a sales team capable of driving results at both regional and account levels. In this role, the Executive Director will lead the sales management process for defined territories and accounts, designing and implementing strategies that enhance business performance within CSG's target markets. This includes providing leadership to the sales team to identify, qualify, and create account plans, and successfully executing those plans through the development and presentation of a complete value proposition, as well as negotiating and pricing contractual terms. The Executive Director will teach customers unique insights about how CSG's products can help them compete in the marketplace, tailoring messaging to each decision-maker and influencing the sales process while overcoming objections. The position also involves tracking economic and industry trends, understanding competitive threats, and sharing insights with both internal and external colleagues. The Executive Director is responsible for financial management within the territory, including revenue growth plans, forecasting, budget planning, expense management, and financial reporting. Leading a team of Sales Directors, the Executive Director will identify customer requirements and partner with pre-sales and solution architect teams to design tailored product sets or solutions, evangelizing these proposals and adjusting them as necessary. Additionally, the Executive Director will build a high-performing team capable of meeting or exceeding assigned productivity and profitability quotas while maintaining high customer satisfaction. This includes guiding the sales team in generating solutions to mitigate potential risks to deal closure and demonstrating effective managerial practices such as recruiting key strategic talent, providing day-to-day leadership, and establishing clear roles and responsibilities within the team. The role requires strategic planning over a 1-2 year horizon, collaboration with senior leaders, and decision-making that significantly impacts the company's success.
