About the position

Wells Fargo's CIB Fund Finance Group is seeking an Investment Banking Executive Director to manage a portfolio of clients, focusing on providing financing solutions to private equity funds and asset managers. This role involves leading underwriting processes, structuring transactions, and maintaining client relationships, while collaborating with senior bankers and junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day job responsibilities for new deals, including creating pitches and term sheets alongside senior bankers.
  • Drive legal document negotiation and deal structuring in collaboration with senior bankers.
  • Act as the lead banker on internal underwriting and credit approval processes, writing detailed credit memos and leading discussions with credit partners.
  • Work closely with internal and external counsel to negotiate legal documentation.
  • Lead due diligence meetings and client interactions related to transactions.
  • Oversee junior resources in deal origination and portfolio management.
  • Understand client financing needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Manage existing deals, including maintaining client relationships and ensuring deal requirements are met.
  • Negotiate and execute amendments and facility modifications for existing transactions.
  • Monitor financial performance and internal credit ratings of borrowers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Investment Banking experience or equivalent.
  • Direct client interaction experience, including leading transaction elements and interacting with senior decision makers.
  • Deal origination and credit underwriting experience in a senior capacity.
  • Experience reading, negotiating, and interpreting legal documents.
  • Experience in structured finance or investment banking is preferred.
  • Leadership experience and/or experience training others.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining excellence and consistency of work.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with originating and monitoring subscription facilities or asset-backed finance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with private equity funds.
  • Experience writing formulas and analyzing data in Excel.
  • Formal credit training program experience.
