About the position

The Executive Director of Swim Operations at the Y in Central Maryland is responsible for overseeing swim programs and operations, ensuring high-quality experiences for members and participants. This role involves managing staff, developing programs, maintaining facilities, and optimizing service delivery while adhering to the organization's mission and values. The position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to community well-being.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise swim and family experience teams.
• Develop training plans for all leaders and ongoing development programs.
• Plan, develop, and execute swim lesson programming within Association guidelines.
• Focus on quality experiences and engagement within programs, services, and activities.
• Exceed revenue and utilization goals while managing assigned expense budgets.
• Coordinate facility usage for assigned programs and communicate with center associates.
• Ensure high-quality programs through innovative development and participant feedback.
• Implement Association best practices and policies related to operations.
• Attend and actively participate in all assigned meetings.
• Communicate the Y mission and objectives to the community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a child-related field or Sports Management/Recreation/Health Sciences, or equivalent experience.
• Current CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certification.
• Current Lifeguard and Pool Operator Certification.
• Five or more years of supervisory, program development, and instruction experience in sports, teen, and/or youth programming.
• A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience acquiring, developing, and implementing off-site programs.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.
