About the position

The Executive Director of Undergraduate Admission at UCLA is responsible for the strategic oversight of recruitment, admission, and enrollment of new undergraduate students. This role involves leading efforts to attract a diverse pool of applicants and ensuring alignment with the university's mission of access, equity, and inclusive excellence. The Executive Director will work closely with the Enrollment Management leadership team to develop data-informed strategies and manage the application review process to meet ambitious enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically oversee recruitment, admission, and enrollment of new undergraduates.
  • Lead efforts to attract a diverse pool of applicants.
  • Manage the application review process in alignment with faculty policies.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Vice Chancellor and other leaders to develop integrated outreach and recruitment strategies.
  • Contribute to the creation of data-informed enrollment strategies.
  • Ensure the admissions office operates efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in progressively responsible positions leading and managing undergraduate admissions at a large institution.
  • Detailed knowledge of University-level undergraduate admission and enrollment management strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an admissions office with a diverse student population and staff.
  • Ability to see the big picture and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to lead and implement organizational strategic planning.
  • Ability to evaluate admissions processes for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and inform decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to keep projects moving forward.
  • Working knowledge of admissions-related information management systems.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills to direct a large staff.
  • Ability to manage fiscal resources through budget planning.
  • Outstanding oral/written communication skills.
