About the position

The Executive Director at Sunrise of Richmond is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and success of the community. This role encompasses financial management, team member relations, regulatory compliance, and the Sales and Marketing process to maximize revenue. The Executive Director is expected to foster a positive atmosphere for residents, families, and team members, aligning with Sunrise's mission and values to provide exceptional care and services to seniors.

Responsibilities

  • Motivates individuals toward higher levels of performance aligned with the organization's vision and values.
  • Communicates a clear, customer-focused vision based on a Resident Centered Model of care.
  • Models a strong belief in mission, vision, and purpose.
  • Builds, motivates, and guides a cohesive team to complete team goals.
  • Provides clear direction and structure for the team to support their success.
  • Manages the talent selection process using best practices and resources.
  • Establishes realistic team goals and motivates the team to achieve them.
  • Ensures consistent and timely orientation and ongoing training for team members.
  • Promotes the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) as a resource for team members.
  • Fosters a work environment that encourages integrity and respect among team members.
  • Drives organizational and cultural changes needed to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Ensures that customer perspectives drive strategic priorities and business decisions.
  • Strives for excellent quality care and service delivery, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Maintains proactive communication with residents' family members and oversees family events.
  • Identifies and builds relationships within the local area to drive business into the community.
  • Sets high goals for personal and group accomplishments and monitors progress toward goals.
  • Prepares and adheres to the community budget, ensuring budgeted revenue is achieved.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred; management experience may be required per state/provincial requirements.
  • Administrator's License/certification may be required per state/provincial requirements.
  • Prior General Manager/Administrator experience focused on growing both top and bottom lines.
  • Previous management experience including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Previous sales experience preferred, including building customer relationships and resolving concerns.
  • Passion for working with seniors.
  • Demonstration of success in managing operating expenses.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in senior living or healthcare management.
  • Knowledge of state regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting.
