About the position

The Executive Director (ED) of the Gala of Hope Foundation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organization, driving fundraising efforts, and ensuring financial health and sustainability. The ED will provide visionary leadership, engage with various stakeholders, and serve as the primary spokesperson for the Foundation, promoting its mission to support individuals and families affected by cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans and policies for long-term success.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of programs and services to meet community needs.
  • Provide leadership to a growing team, fostering collaboration and professional development.
  • Oversee the grant award process and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Manage budgets, financial forecasts, and regular financial reporting to ensure the organization's financial health.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations.
  • Oversee comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and government entities.
  • Serve as the public face and primary spokesperson for the Foundation, representing its interests to stakeholders and the media.
  • Develop effective communication strategies to engage the community and promote the Foundation's work.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop Foundation staff and volunteers, ensuring high performance and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership, fundraising, donor relations, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful fundraising strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing budgets and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience in managing staff and volunteers, including leadership and mentoring.
  • Proficiency with donor management systems and fundraising software.
