About the position

The Executive Director of ORAEYC is responsible for the overall operational leadership of the organization, focusing on fund development, staff and volunteer management, and strategic planning. This part-time role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in non-profit leadership and early childhood education, committed to community building and inclusivity.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, administration, management, and supervision of ORAEYC's programs and staff.
• Support the Governing Council by attending and assisting with planning meetings.
• Develop a long-range strategic plan in collaboration with the Governing Council.
• Increase diverse membership and support service delivery to members.
• Oversee financial stability by managing budgets, grants, and contracts.
• Lead fund development efforts to secure additional revenue sources.
• Facilitate external communication and advocacy for the early childhood profession.
• Represent ORAEYC in collaborations with local and national partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, education administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in a leadership role within a non-profit organization or early childhood education.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood education policies and best practices.
• Experience in fund development and financial management.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in public relations and policy advocacy.
• Familiarity with NAEYC guidelines and membership processes.
