About the position

The Executive Director of Jeffco Eats is responsible for overseeing all operations, fundraising, financial management, program development, and strategic planning within the organization. This role requires a visionary leader who is action-oriented and adaptable, with a strong commitment to combating food insecurity in the community. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization fulfills its mission and effectively serves its constituents, while also inspiring staff and volunteers to engage with the mission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision to guide the organization in addressing food insecurity.
  • Lead the development and execution of short and long-term plans.
  • Ensure clear communication of mission and core values to all stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the organization's performance and adjust strategic plans as needed.
  • Build and nurture an engaged Board of Directors, providing necessary resources and training.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, mentor, and train staff and volunteers committed to the mission.
  • Oversee and enhance existing programs while identifying opportunities for new initiatives.
  • Act as the main fundraiser, developing and leading fundraising strategies.
  • Create and maintain the organization's brand and messaging across all channels.
  • Represent the organization at public events and speaking engagements.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in food insecurity or related social issues.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with Google Suite and donor management software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and assess priorities based on organizational needs.
  • Commitment to social justice and understanding of food insecurity challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising proposals.
  • Knowledge of community engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with financial management best practices in non-profits.
