About the position

The Executive Director of the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast is responsible for managing the organization's operations and strategic initiatives aimed at advancing diverse housing options in the community. This role involves community engagement, fundraising, and advocacy for housing policies, while also overseeing the Coalition's staff and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. The Executive Director will work closely with various stakeholders to promote housing as an essential economic development issue and facilitate educational programming.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and strategic work of the Coalition under the direction of the Board of Directors.
  • Conduct all fundraising and development activities.
  • Oversee and evaluate the Coalition's full-time Community Housing Navigator.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain proper insurance coverage.
  • Maintain relationships with businesses, civic leaders, elected officials, and housing partners.
  • Advocate for amendments to local land use regulations and engage communities in housing discussions.
  • Garner public and political support for housing solutions and speak publicly about housing issues.
  • Promote municipal and technical assistance initiatives and stay updated on housing-related legislation.
  • Facilitate technical assistance to municipalities through educational presentations and workshops.
  • Manage public outreach, including social media and written communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to foster relationships and engage individuals.
  • Understanding of housing policies, local government, and community engagement.
