The Executive Director for the American Red Cross in West Kentucky is a pivotal role that embodies the mission of the organization to help those in need. The Executive Director will also be responsible for managing the chapter board to effectively mobilize support and resources around the Red Cross mission. Additionally, the role includes developing and managing community volunteer leaders who will act as representatives of the Red Cross in their assigned territories, supporting mission capacity building through key community partnerships and volunteer recruitment. The Executive Director will influence the creation of a teamwork-oriented and inclusive environment to effectively deliver on the Red Cross mission. This position may also involve serving as a member of the Elected Officials Liaison Network, which supports disaster responses across the nation. The role requires a commitment to the Red Cross's values and a passion for making a difference in the community.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Ability to work on a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in community organization, public or business administration, or non-profit management.
  • Fundraising and revenue generation experience in the Western Kentucky market.
