About the position

The Executive Level Desktop Support Engineer position at TEKsystems is a critical role designed to provide high-level technical support to the Executive Leadership Team. This position is based in New Brighton, Minnesota, and requires the candidate to be onsite 100% of the time. The primary responsibility of the Executive Level Support Engineer is to assist company executives and their administrative staff with troubleshooting various technical issues, including but not limited to personal computers, telephones, and audio/visual equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing 'white glove' support, demonstrating exceptional service orientation and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes. In this role, the Executive Level Support Engineer will manage level 3 support issues that have been escalated from lower-level support teams. This includes providing direction and training to L1 and L2 support team members. The engineer will also be responsible for developing processes related to new and existing technology, determining optimal hardware and software configurations to meet business needs, and building relationships with vendors. Additionally, the engineer will define technical requirements for applications, design system requirements based on use cases, and document new processes for both internal and client purposes. The position requires proactive communication with executives and their administrative staff to manage expectations and provide timely solutions to any issues that arise. The engineer will also be responsible for providing solutions for meeting room and event issues, ensuring seamless audio and video calls using platforms like TEAMS and ZOOM. This role demands a high level of professionalism and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support the executive team’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage level 3 support issues for the executive team, providing direction and training to L1 and L2 support team members.
  • Develop processes with new and existing technology.
  • Determine hardware/software configurations that best serve business requirements.
  • Build vendor relationships.
  • Define technical requirements for applications and processes.
  • Design system requirements based on use cases.
  • Develop system configurations based on user/business specifications.
  • Document new processes for internal and client purposes.
  • Develop knowledge articles for new processes.
  • Document, test, and deploy new hardware/software solutions.
  • Proactively address concerns from the team you support on a daily basis.
  • Provide solutions to meeting room and event issues onsite/offsite for presentations, audio, and video calls using TEAMS and ZOOM.
  • Prioritize and maintain issue log in Service Now for supported staff; coordinate frequent communication with the executive team.
  • Manage expectations with Executives and Executive Administrators.
  • Provide white glove support to Executives in A/V rooms, performing testing and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Executives.
  • Act and present self as extremely professional.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as an executive support engineer is required.
  • Strong service/support orientation with a focus on high-level executive support.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to manage expectations with executives and their admins.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with audio/visual equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Service Now or similar ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of TEAMS and ZOOM for video conferencing solutions.
