About the position

The Executive Management Consultant role at the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) involves providing strategic leadership and consultation to enhance the agency's operational goals and public health initiatives. The consultant will facilitate the development of action plans, assist in reaccreditation efforts, and support emergency response planning, all aimed at improving the health and well-being of Maine residents.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the development of action plans that support Maine CDC COVID after action review and reaccreditation.
  • Assists CDC leadership in developing short-term and long-term plans to attain and improve operational goals to obtain reaccreditation.
  • Establishes collaborative working groups to develop and implement Maine CDC's strategic plan, organizational performance metrics, and public health reaccreditation.
  • Provides consultation to CDC Director on developing an interagency system that provides real-time information on public health trends.
  • Provides consultation to CDC Director on emergency response planning and operations and development of the Emergency Planning Working Group (EPWG).
  • Consults with CDC Director on performance management initiatives, agency strategic initiatives, and safety of the workforce.
  • Conducts senior leader special projects as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in a business or other related profession
  • At least ten years of experience in executive leadership
  • Extensive experience, 8+ years in mobilizing and motivating team members to deliver projects on time and under budget
  • Experienced in process improvement and deliberate planning
  • Experience with emergency operations and logistics
  • Prior work experience building teams and providing strategic recommendations
  • Experience in strategic planning and executing short-term and long-term plans
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external partners
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Results oriented
  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office (e.g., WORD, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and summarize a variety of information
  • Ability to multitask between different projects and/or functions at the same time.
