About the position

The Executive Operations Specialist serves as the Executive Officer (XO) in the Headquarters of the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), providing direct support to the Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer. The role involves assisting in the management and direction of various line and staff programs and activities, ensuring the successful completion of actions affecting key Agency programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deputy Director in managing and directing line and staff programs and activities.
• Control the Deputy Director's administrative actions, including routing and coordination of staff actions and calendar supervision.
• Plan, evaluate, integrate, and coordinate activities of multiple line and staff organizations within the Agency.
• Anticipate and meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
• Deliver high-quality products and services and commit to continuous improvement.
• Conduct comprehensive administrative research and develop strategies to address sensitive issues.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or national status.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level for GS-13 applicants.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level for GS-14 applicants.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in conducting business studies and analyses related to DoD or DeCA processes.
• Knowledge of DOD and DeCA management and administrative programs, policies, and procedures.
