About the position

The Executive Operations Specialist serves as the Executive Officer (XO) in the Headquarters of the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), providing direct support to the Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer. This role involves managing and directing various line and staff programs and activities, ensuring effective communication and coordination among multiple organizations within the Agency and external stakeholders. The position is critical for achieving the Agency's mission and objectives, with opportunities for promotion based on performance and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deputy Director in managing and directing line and staff programs and activities.
• Plan, evaluate, integrate, and coordinate activities of multiple organizations within the Agency.
• Control the Deputy Director's administrative actions, including calendar supervision and routing of staff actions.
• Anticipate and meet the needs of internal and external customers, delivering high-quality products and services.
• Conduct business studies and analyses related to DoD or DeCA processes.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or national status is required.
• Minimum age requirement must be met.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 for GS-13 applicants.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 for GS-14 applicants.
• Ability to develop strategies for sensitive issues during project execution.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in federal government operations and administrative policies.
• Knowledge of DOD and DeCA management programs.
