About the position

The Executive Operations Specialist serves as the Executive Officer (XO) in the Headquarters of the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), providing direct support to the Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer. This role involves managing and directing line and staff programs, coordinating activities across multiple organizations, and ensuring the successful completion of actions affecting key Agency programs. The position offers promotion potential and requires a high level of initiative and judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Executive Officer to the Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer of DeCA.
• Assist in management and direction of line and staff programs and activities.
• Control the Deputy Director's administrative actions, including calendar supervision and routing of staff actions.
• Plan, evaluate, integrate, and coordinate activities of multiple line and staff organizations within the Agency.
• Conduct business studies and analyses related to DoD or DeCA processes.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and officials.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level for GS-13 applicants.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level for GS-14 applicants.
• Ability to anticipate and develop strategies for sensitive issues during project execution.
• Comprehensive knowledge of DOD and DeCA management and administrative programs, policies, and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in conducting comprehensive administrative research.
• Familiarity with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (OASD) operations.
