About the position

The Executive Producer of Video Podcasts at Yahoo Finance will lead the development and execution of engaging video podcast content aimed at empowering investors with financial knowledge. This role involves overseeing a team responsible for producing original programming, ensuring strategic alignment with Yahoo Finance's business objectives, and enhancing audience engagement through diverse storytelling and multimedia production.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape the team's conversation about video podcasts, creating an appealing slate of shows.
• Set and execute a strategic plan for Yahoo Finance video podcasts to engage the audience.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including planning, scripting, staffing, and budgeting.
• Manage a team of producers, editors, and talent to develop and produce original video podcast programming.
• Distribute content across various channels including O&O, OTT, and social platforms.
• Collaborate with the Yahoo Finance newsroom and other departments to enhance content quality and reach.
• Develop a podcast roadmap and business objectives within the first 30 days.
• Drive growth in podcast/video viewership and distribution across multiple platforms.
• Identify trending topics and key opportunities for coverage.
• Maintain budgets and track spending in collaboration with the operations team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of producing and programming experience within a news or digital media outlet.
• Previous experience in a leadership role is essential.
• Passion for personal finance and investing, with a solid understanding of markets and business strategies.
• Strong storytelling skills with a proven track record in high-quality field production.
• Professional experience in writing and reviewing headlines and scripts under tight deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with newsroom leaders and other departments.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to execute a roadmap.
• Knowledge of current SEO practices and techniques.
• Hands-on experience with podcast and video production.
