About the position

The Executive Producer of Video Podcasts at Yahoo Finance will lead the development and execution of engaging video podcast content aimed at empowering investors with financial knowledge. This role involves overseeing a team responsible for producing high-quality podcasts, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring strategic alignment with Yahoo Finance's business objectives. The position requires strong leadership, storytelling skills, and collaboration across various departments to drive viewership and distribution of content across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape the team's conversation into an appealing slate of creatively presented shows.
• Set and execute a strategic plan for Yahoo Finance video podcasts to appeal to a diverse audience.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including planning, scripting, staffing, and budgeting.
• Manage a team of producers, editors, and talent to develop and produce original video podcast programming.
• Distribute content across Yahoo Finance's distribution channels including O&O, OTT, and major podcast platforms.
• Collaborate with the Yahoo Finance newsroom and other departments to enhance content development and distribution strategies.
• Deliver a podcast roadmap and business objectives within the first 30 days of employment.
• Drive growth in podcast/video viewership and distribution across various platforms.
• Identify key opportunities for coverage and trending topics.
• Set editorial standards for original content with attention to detail.
• Maintain budgets and track spending in collaboration with the operations team.
• Ensure respectful management of the team and performance management.

Requirements

• 7 years of producing and programming experience within a news or digital media outlet.
• Previous experience in a leadership role is essential.
• Passionate about personal finance and investing with a solid understanding of markets and business strategies.
• Strong storytelling skills with a proven track record in high-quality field production.
• Professional experience in writing and reviewing headlines and scripts under tight deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with newsroom leaders and other departments.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to execute a roadmap.
• Flexible and adaptable to the changing news environment.
• Refined knowledge of current SEO practices and techniques.
• Hands-on experience with podcast and video production.
• Proven track record in optimizing video and podcasts for digital platforms.
