About the position

The Executive Search Associate at Heidrick & Struggles plays a vital role in the executive recruiting lifecycle, assisting in candidate identification and placement. This position involves close collaboration with Search Partners and Principals, providing hands-on experience and mentorship. Associates are responsible for developing search strategies, managing candidate relationships, and supporting business development activities, all while gaining insights into various industries and executive roles.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct industry-specific and client company research to map the executive talent landscape.
  • Support Consultants in developing position specifications and focused search strategies.
  • Assist in preparing business development and candidate assessment documents for clients.
  • Contact prospective candidates to gauge interest in client opportunities and gather market intelligence.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews to assess candidate qualifications against position specifications.
  • Manage candidate relationships throughout the search lifecycle and keep Consultants updated on candidate progress.
  • Foster productive relationships with colleagues across the firm and contribute to a collaborative environment.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all search information in internal and external research tools.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver high-quality outputs on time.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of professional experience or a minimum of 2 years of transferable recruiting experience.
  • An undergraduate BA/BS degree is required.
  • Exhibits skill in professional communications, with adeptness in writing and delivering information confidently.
  • Developing ability to collaborate effectively with external clients and candidates.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in full life cycle recruiting in Executive Search, Contingent Search, or In-House Talent Acquisition.
  • Experience in management consulting or industries requiring applied sales and research skills.
  • Experience targeting potential candidates and developing pitch materials.
