The Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director for Golf at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) plays a pivotal role in overseeing and advancing the university's golf programs. Reporting directly to the Vice President and Director of Athletics, this position is responsible for ensuring the overall success of the golf programs, managing day-to-day operations, and spearheading revenue-generation initiatives to support long-term sustainability. The individual in this role will act as a steward and liaison between EMU Golf and various stakeholders, including GameAbove EMU/Sports and key donor groups, facilitating regular communication and updates regarding the golf program's progress and initiatives. In addition to program oversight, the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director will track the academic progress and success of student-athletes, assist coaching staff with the onboarding of incoming student-athletes, and ensure compliance with NCAA regulations. This includes managing financial aid, housing, admissions, and orientation processes, as well as coordinating construction and upgrades in collaboration with EMU Athletics and Eagle Crest Golf Resort. The role also involves providing support to head coaches in recruitment, training, and competition preparation, while supervising and evaluating coaching staff and program resources. The position requires collaboration with various professionals, including performance coaches and sports medicine experts, to address the unique training and development needs of golf student-athletes. The Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director will also be responsible for developing and managing program budgets, overseeing logistical operations for team travel and events, and serving as the primary contact for EMU Golf Alumni to foster community support and involvement. A significant aspect of this role is the focus on sustainable revenue generation. The Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director will oversee all revenue generation activities, particularly leveraging the GameAbove Golf Performance Center. This includes managing logistical needs related to revenue efforts, leading fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the EMU Foundation, and identifying Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for student-athletes while ensuring compliance with regulations. Regular progress reports will be provided to the Director of Athletics to keep them informed of developments and achievements within the golf programs.
