About the position

As a General Merchandise & Food Sales Executive Team Leader at Target, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have a consistent and enjoyable shopping experience. This position is centered around operations, process, and efficiency, enabling a seamless experience for our guests by ensuring that products are set, in-stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. You will lead the General Merchandise and Food Sales team, overseeing inbound and outbound processes, replenishment, inventory accuracy, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. Your leadership will also extend to managing Food & Beverage and Food Service operations, ensuring a fresh and food-safe experience for our guests. In this role, you will be responsible for driving total store sales and understanding how your departments and team contribute to overall profitability. You will manage a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency, enabling efficient delivery to our guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work. Regular check-ins with your team will be essential to ensure the completion of tasks and workload, while also managing all General Merchandise backroom and sales floor areas. You will oversee workload planning for your team leaders, ensuring that transitions, revisions, and sales plans are effectively executed. Your responsibilities will also include creating a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience and drives store sales goals. You will assess competition and leverage guest insights to enhance business performance. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, as you will need to work early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends to align with guest and business needs. You will also be responsible for maintaining a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, leading your team to uphold these standards. Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand your role in sales growth.
  • Manage Food & Beverage, food services, inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes for all GM areas of the store.
  • Manage a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.
  • Develop a strategy and utilize workload planning tools to complete all scheduled workload ensuring guest readiness.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with your team to ensure completion of tasks and workload.
  • Manage all GM backroom and sales floor areas, reviewing reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve them.
  • Oversee GM Team Leaders' workload planning including transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all GM areas.
  • Drive fulfillment sales by leading the Fulfillment team to fulfill each order accurately and efficiently.
  • Drive a culture centered in food safety; train, validate, and coach team to deliver proper execution on all food safety standards and cleaning routines.
  • Lead an efficient operation to fund the sales culture.
  • Oversee Food & Beverage Team Leader's workload planning including transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, and promotions.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience and delivers on store sales goals.
  • Assess all GM and Food & Beverage backroom and sales floor areas, walking Food & Beverage Standards to assess priorities in food and review GM/Food reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve.
  • Plan, lead, and follow-up on organizational and operational change.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management; actively develop, coach, and train your team.
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Manage conflict, lead, and hold others accountable.
  • Relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis.
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
