About the position

The General Merchandise & Food Sales Executive Team Leader at Target is responsible for managing operations, ensuring product availability, and leading a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role focuses on driving sales growth, maintaining inventory accuracy, and fostering a culture centered on food safety and guest satisfaction. The Executive Team Leader will oversee various processes related to general merchandise and food sales, while also developing their team members' skills and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand the role in sales growth.
  • Manage Food & Beverage, food services, inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes for all GM areas of the store.
  • Manage a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.
  • Develop a strategy and utilize workload planning tools to complete all scheduled workload ensuring guest readiness.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the team to ensure task completion.
  • Manage all GM backroom and sales floor areas, reviewing reporting to identify gaps and develop a resolution plan.
  • Oversee GM Team Leaders' workload planning including transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all GM areas.
  • Drive fulfillment sales by leading the Fulfillment team to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Drive a culture centered in food safety; train, validate, and coach the team on food safety standards and cleaning routines.
  • Lead an efficient operation to support the sales culture.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes guest experience and delivers on store sales goals.
  • Assess competition and leverage guest insights to drive business objectives.
  • Work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends.
  • Manage a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is in stock, fresh, available, food safe, and accurately priced.
  • Plan, lead, and follow-up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Develop and coach the team to elevate their skills and expertise.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to manage conflict and hold others accountable
  • Ability to relate well with all levels of the organization
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis and decision making
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
