As a General Merchandise & Food Sales Executive Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have a consistent and enjoyable shopping experience. This position is centered around operations, process, and efficiency, enabling a seamless experience for our guests by ensuring that products are set, in-stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. You will lead the General Merchandise and Food Sales team, overseeing inbound and outbound processes, replenishment, inventory accuracy, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. Additionally, you will manage Food & Beverage and Food Service operations, ensuring a fresh and food-safe experience for our guests. In this role, you will be responsible for driving total store sales and understanding how your departments and team contribute to overall profitability. You will manage a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency, enabling efficient delivery to our guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work. Your responsibilities will include developing strategies, utilizing workload planning tools, conducting regular check-ins with your team, and managing all General Merchandise backroom and sales floor areas. You will also oversee the workload planning of your team leaders, drive fulfillment sales, and create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience. As a General Merchandise & Food Sales Executive Team Leader, you will be expected to work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, which may include early morning, evening, overnight shifts, and weekends. You will assess all General Merchandise and Food & Beverage areas, plan and lead operational changes, and establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management. Your leadership will be essential in providing a shopping experience that meets the needs of our guests while demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand your role in sales growth.
  • Manage Food & Beverage, food services, inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes for all GM areas of the store.
  • Manage a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.
  • Develop a strategy and utilize workload planning tools to complete all scheduled workload ensuring guest readiness.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with your team to ensure completion of tasks and workload.
  • Manage all GM backroom and sales floor areas, reviewing reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve.
  • Oversee GM Team Leaders' workload planning including transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all GM areas.
  • Drive fulfillment sales by leading the Fulfillment team to fulfill each order accurately and efficiently.
  • Drive a culture centered in food safety; train, validate, and coach team to deliver proper execution on all food safety standards and cleaning routines.
  • Lead an efficient operation to fund the sales culture.
  • Oversee Food & Beverage Team Leader's workload planning including transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, and promotions.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience and delivers on store sales goals.
  • Know and assess the competition; leverage guest insights and feedback to drive the business.
  • Manage a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is in stock, fresh, available, food safe, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor.
  • Assess all GM and Food & Beverage backroom and sales floor areas, walking Food & Beverage Standards to assess priorities in food and review GM/Food reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve.
  • Plan, lead, and follow-up on organizational and operational change.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Develop and coach your team to elevate their skills and expertise.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management; actively develop, coach, and train your team; anticipate staffing needs, talent plan, and recruit.
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; lead the team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment.
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.
  • Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.).
  • Perform all other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Ability to manage conflict, lead, and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

  • Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, freshness and quality, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies.
