About the position

The General Merchandise Sales Executive Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a team that ensures a consistent and efficient shopping experience for guests. This role involves managing various operational processes, including inventory management, sales strategies, and team development, to drive store profitability and enhance guest satisfaction. The position requires a strong focus on guest service, team leadership, and operational excellence, with the goal of creating a guest-obsessed culture within the store.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand the role in sales growth.
  • Manage a team executing inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes.
  • Lead a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and prioritize the guest experience.
  • Develop strategies and utilize workload planning tools to complete scheduled workload.
  • Create a scheduling plan in partnership with team leaders based on business workload and guest traffic.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the team to ensure task completion.
  • Manage all GM backroom and sales floor areas, reviewing reporting to identify gaps and develop resolution plans.
  • Oversee Team Leaders' workload planning, including transitions and sales plans.
  • Drive fulfillment sales by leading the Fulfillment team to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Know and assess the competition, leveraging guest insights to drive business.
  • Plan, manage, and follow up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Develop and coach Team Leaders to elevate team skills and expertise.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and recruit talent for both long and short term.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Ability to manage conflict and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis and decision making.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
