About the position

As the Executive Team Leader Human Resources at Target, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the HR strategies and goals that drive the success of our teams and the overall business. This position is not just about managing HR functions; it is about being a proactive leader who champions change, removes roadblocks, and builds diverse and inclusive talent strategies. You will spend most of your time on the sales floor, working closely with your team and peers to ensure that we are exceeding guest expectations and creating a workplace where team members thrive. In this role, you will lead a team of HR Experts and Team Leaders, focusing on creating a service culture that prioritizes guest service. You will be responsible for modeling, training, and coaching your team to deliver exceptional service standards. Your ability to read financial reports and interpret data will be crucial as you drive total store sales and understand how your area contributes to overall profitability. You will also be tasked with planning and leading organizational changes, anticipating store trends, and leveraging guest insights to enhance the shopping experience. You will engage with the community, build relationships, and lead initiatives that address local needs. Responsibilities

  • Lead and create a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Drive total store sales and understand your role in sales growth.
  • Plan, lead, and follow-up on organizational and operational change.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Know and assess the competition; leverage guest insights and feedback.
  • Champion a culture where teams love to work and guests love to shop.
  • Build teams committed to continuous learning through ongoing observations.
  • Support the leadership team in ensuring equitable experiences and promoting inclusivity.
  • Engage and educate store team on Target's community initiatives.
  • Build relationships important to the store's community.
  • Take an active role in the development of leaders to champion a guest-centric culture.
  • Lead an open-door culture where team members feel heard.
  • Support leadership with creating schedules that fit both guest and team members' needs.
  • Decrease fluctuations within team member schedules by developing a staffing strategy.
  • Guide store leaders in hiring and onboarding talent with the right skills.
  • Develop a team of HR Experts and Team Leaders who solve problems and engage team members.
  • Plan and manage all team operational and cyclical programs related to culture and benefits.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest.
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.

  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis and decision making.
