About the position

As an Executive Team Leader Overnight Inbound Operations at Target, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have a seamless shopping experience. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about leading teams to achieve operational excellence. You will be responsible for managing the inbound operations of the store, which includes overseeing the processes of sorting, stocking, and backstocking products. Your leadership will be essential in creating a culture that prioritizes guest satisfaction and drives sales growth. In this role, you will support departmental sales goals and understand how your team's efforts contribute to the overall profitability of the store. You will manage a team of hourly team members and leaders, ensuring they are well-trained and equipped to handle their responsibilities effectively. Your ability to develop strategies and utilize workload planning tools will be key in completing all scheduled tasks and ensuring that the store is guest-ready at opening. You will also be responsible for creating a guest-obsessed culture, where the needs of the guests are prioritized, and their shopping experience is enhanced. This includes managing all General Merchandise backroom and sales floor areas, reviewing reports to identify gaps, and developing plans to address any issues. As a key carrier, you will follow all safety and compliance protocols, ensuring that your team adheres to these standards as well. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include anticipating staffing needs, talent planning, and recruiting both short and long-term. You will establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management, ensuring that your team is motivated and engaged in their work. Additionally, you will address any store needs that arise, including emergency situations and regulatory visits, demonstrating your ability to lead in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support departmental sales goals and understand your role in sales growth and how your departments and team contribute to and impact total store profitability
  • Manage the team to be experts in operations and ensure accuracy and efficiency in all inbound processes, including sort, stock and backstock
  • Develop a strategy and utilize your workload planning tools to complete all scheduled workload ensuring areas are guest ready at store open
  • Create a scheduling plan in partnership with your Team Leaders based off of monthly and weekly business workload and guest traffic
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience and delivers on store sales goals
  • Manage all General Merch backroom and sales floor areas, review all reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve
  • Enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is in stock and available
  • Plan, manage and follow-up on organizational and operational change
  • Anticipate staffing needs, talent plan and recruit - both long and short term
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; lead team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment
  • Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.)
  • Perform all other duties based on business needs

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Manage conflict, lead and hold others accountable
  • Relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
