About the position

As an Executive Team Leader Specialty Sales (Assistant Manager) at Target, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and enhancing the guest experience in our Specialty Sales departments, which include Apparel & Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics. In this role, you will gain valuable knowledge of retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory management, and pricing strategies. You will be responsible for setting and planning the monthly and quarterly workload for your departments, aligning your team's efforts with business priorities to achieve sales goals. Your ability to manage multiple specialty businesses and leverage insights from competitors will be crucial in driving business objectives. A typical day will involve driving total store sales, creating schedules that align with guest traffic, and managing your team to effectively plan merchandising and pricing workloads. You will also be responsible for recruiting, selecting, and managing talent within your team, ensuring that they are knowledgeable and passionate about the products they sell. Additionally, you will lead your team in delivering inspiring visual moments and maintaining a welcoming environment in fitting rooms. Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand your role in sales growth.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead your team to prioritize the guest experience.
  • Create schedules and make adjustments as needed to align with guest traffic and business needs.
  • Manage your team to effectively plan merchandising and pricing workload.
  • Know and assess the competition and leverage guest insights to drive the business.
  • Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Build a team of consultants knowledgeable in Apparel and Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics.
  • Manage and develop a sales force using selling training techniques.
  • Lead backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment of the sales floor.
  • Lead your team to deliver inspiring visual moments in relevant areas.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used as an extension of the sales floor.
  • Plan, lead, and follow-up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and recruit talent.
  • Develop and coach your team and Team Leaders to elevate their skills.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets guest needs.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
