As a Specialty Sales Executive Team Leader at Target, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and enhancing the guest experience across various departments, including Apparel & Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics. You will also be tasked with planning and executing workload to align with business priorities, ensuring that your team is equipped to meet the demands of a busy retail environment. Your ability to assess competition and utilize guest insights will be key in positioning your departments as the preferred choice for shoppers. A typical day will involve driving total store sales, creating schedules that align with guest traffic, and managing merchandising and pricing workload. You will lead your team in delivering inspiring visual moments and ensuring that fitting rooms are welcoming extensions of the sales floor. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and coaching your team, establishing a culture of accountability, and addressing any operational needs that arise. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, as you will need to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand your role in sales growth.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead your team to prioritize the guest experience.
  • Create schedules and make adjustments as needed to align with guest traffic and business needs.
  • Manage your team to effectively plan merchandising and pricing workload.
  • Know and assess the competition and leverage guest insights to drive the business.
  • Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Build a knowledgeable and passionate team in Apparel and Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics.
  • Manage and develop a sales force using selling training techniques.
  • Lead backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment of the sales floor.
  • Lead your team to deliver inspiring visual moments in relevant areas.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used as extensions of the sales floor.
  • Plan, lead, and follow-up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and recruit talent for both short and long term.
  • Develop and coach your team and Team Leaders to elevate their skills.
  • Lead team onboarding and help close product knowledge gaps through development and coaching.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of the guest.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; hold the team accountable.
  • Address store needs such as emergencies and regulatory visits.
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
